What's Love Got To Do With It?
By now most of you know that Lumos is not just about pain relief. But some of you may be new to these parts! Lumos Chiropractic is about optimal function and healing. We're also all about community, integrity, and love.
Often in western health care we disregard the power of love and the role it plays in healing. There have even been studies showing a correlation between positive health outcomes and optimism/love/prayer. See? So why does it get ignored?
It's not tangible. And in the west we have a tendency to disregard things that we can't quantify or label. There is no dosage of love that you can give. You can't measure how much prayer it takes to cure an ailment. There's no way to bottle optimism and give it to those in need. So, our left brained scientific community strays away from it. But I'm here to tell you it matters. Own it.
We have a hierarchy of needs. These impact our physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. We see them in multiple cultures and texts. Maslow's hierarchy of needs places love as one of the first necessities following basic needs like food, water, shelter, and safety.
A similar hierarchy is seen in the eastern philosophy of chakras. There are 7 chakras. Each chakra is is a energy center associated with needs and affect your physical, spiritual, and mental health. Imbalances in your chakras can manifest in different ways. And similar to Maslow's pyramid, it can be difficult to strengthen the higher chakras when the more basic chakras are not balanced. The first chakra is the root chakra, and it is associated with security and survival. The second is the sacral chakra, which is associated with compassion and emotional stability. The third is the solar plexus, which is associated with self identity and personal power. While the fourth chakra is the heart chakra, which is strongly associated with love and compassion for others. And while The heart chakra may be fourth up the chain, you can see strongly how a a sense of love would influence each chakra leading up to it.
Chiropractic works with the input/output system of the body, and most importantly with healing. So of course we're going to emphasize the power of love in self healing!
Our goal is to create a community of loving individuals. Our office is a space where you will not only be taken care of physically. But you will be loved, empowered, uplifted and showered in love.
